Tatarstan and Uzbekistan discuss topical issues of cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov had a meeting today with a delegation from Uzbekistan, headed by Deputy Minister of Housing and Communal Services Kurbon Tursunov. The meeting took place in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan.

The event was attended by Deputy Mayor of Tashkent Sharof Rakhmanov, Deputy Mayor of Tashkent Region, Head of Investment and Foreign Trade Department Najmiddinhodzha Sharipov and Consul General of Uzbekistan in Kazan Fariddin Nasriyev. Representative of Tatarstan in Uzbekistan Aidar Ahtareev also took part in the meeting via videoconferencing.

During the talks, the parties discussed opportunities for expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation. As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint work to expand cooperation and support each other in all areas of partnership.

Within the framework of their trip, the Uzbekistani delegation also plans to visit the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of Economy of Tatarstan, Tatkhimpharmpreparaty, KER-Holding, Alabuga SEZ, and a number of other organisations.

A Representative Office of Tatarstan has been operating in Uzbekistan since 1992. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan also operates successfully in Kazan.
