Tatarstan President attended launch of three new facilities at TANECO

Today, a launch ceremony was held at the TANECO refinery complex in Nizhnekamsk to put into operation a catalytic cracking unit, a hydrogen plant, and an oil production unit. The event was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Director General of Tatneft Nail Maganov.

Total investments in the three new facilities exceeded RUB 31 billion. When erecting the new facilities, Tatneft secured orders for the plants in nearly twenty Russian cities: in Kazan, Bugulma, Saint Petersburg, Ufa, Izhevsk, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Taganrog, etc. The equipment used is 95% domestic-made.

President Minnikhanov noted that today TANECO continues to develop hi-tech projects. Then he presented a number of government awards of Tatarstan. After that, Rustam Minnikhanov visited the new production facilities.

Since 2010, a total of 21 units have been put into operation at TANECO, the designed capacity of the oil refining complex is more than 15 million tonnes a year.

Nail Maganov thanked the Republic’s leaders for the support in implementing new projects. He said that four more new plants are slated to open this year.

Earlier, the President also toured the construction site of the second delayed coking unit. The unit capacity is 2 million tonnes a year. The new project will increase the oil refining volume to 15.3 million tonnes a year with a residual-oil-free production.
