WorldSkills Competition launched in Kazan

Today, Kazan saw the opening ceremony of the 45th WorldSkills Competition. The ceremony was held at the Kazan Arena Stadium. The opening ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, and other officials.

The WorldSkills International Competition will run until August 27. A total of 1,300 young professionals from 63 countries take part in it. Competitions will be held in 56 skills, 63 contestants from 24 Russia’s regions represent the Russian Federation.

During his visit to Kazan, Denis Manturov made a tour of the stands of Rosatom, Samsung Corporation, Kazan Helicopters, Tatneft, and others. He was also presented WorldSkills training grounds.

As part of his visit, a second unit for primary oil refining at TANECO was put into operation via teleconference. The launch ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
