On September 14, the second meeting of the China-Russia industrial cooperation sub-committee will take place in Kazan. Within the framework of the event, the participants will discuss Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of shipbuilding, automotive, aircraft engineering and aviation sectors, as well as in aluminium industry.

Among other things, they will consider the progress in the development programme of a wide-body long-range aircraft and the family created on its basis, the development of a civilian heavy helicopter, the exports of power equipment to Russia, and the localisation opportunities for the production of Chinese equipment in Russia.

In addition, the issues for discussion include the opportunities for Chinese companies in the development of a production cluster for high value-added aluminium products based on the Krasnoyarsk Technology Valley in Eastern Siberia, the transfer of some energy-intensive industries from China to Siberia, and the plan to localise the production of measuring equipment and microwave components by China Electronics Technology Instrumentation Co., Ltd.

In the field of economic cooperation, the meeting will focus on attracting Chinese partners for the development of the infrastructure in the SEZ Alabuga.

During the corporate holidays, the repair teams at KAMAZ enterprises have repaired a number of production equipment units. For two weeks, more than 530 pieces of equipment were repaired, of which almost 45 were in the category of especially important ones. In total, 1800 people were involved in the repair jobs.

At the automotive plant, the reconstruction of the overhead pusher conveyor began on August 7. After repairs, the OPC coverage area has been expanded, and the controllers have also been upgraded. The reconstruction of the conveyor line is planned to be fully completed in January, so the flow of cabs will thus far go along a by-pass route. Also, the plant continues to draw down its production premises. This time, it has been possible to move, install and run more than 50 pieces of equipment in a small series workshop, mainly CNC machines and machining centres.

Similar work has been done during the company holidays at the engine plant too – within the framework of the Tibet Project, the repair teams moved the machines and arranged them into more efficient production streams.
