On December 8, the SEZ Alabuga will see an opening ceremony of the battery production plant to be launched by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. This facility plans to have a Russia’s market share of 15% as early as in 2019.

The plant in the SEZ Alabuga will be opened on December 8 by Bars Technology, part of the Korib Group. As of now, this is the only facility in Russia with fully automated procedures for assembling car and truck batteries.

To ensure the high quality of Bars Technology products, a number of patented technologies are applied, such as the cold stamping technology used in the production of lead paste. In contrast to casting, this is an environmentally friendly process that ensures maximum protection against corrosion and allows preserving the lead structure. The final assembly of the finished batteries is made on a fully automated line.

By late 2019, Bars Technology intends to take 15% of the battery market in Russia. The target of the plant is to build up the production to 4 million batteries а year by 2022, thus becoming the leading player in Russia in the automotive battery market and a leading battery supplier to country's automotive manufacturers.
